Ray & Sherriee

In Alaska On "Rhapsody Of The Seas"

Bio:
I was born & raised in Houston Texas. Graduated high school in 1965 and was drafted into the Army in 1966. I went to Korea for 14 months and returned in 1968. Upon being discharged, I got a job at the telephone company which was what I'd wanted to do since the age of 10.

Sherrie and I retired from the telephone company at Madisonville in 1991 and began raising emus. We've been emu ranching ever since and it has been a successful business for us. We have a website where we sell emu oil: EmuOilDepot.com

Started singing in church at the age of six. My dad was always the song director at the churches we attended and from the age of 15, I was the assistant song director.

I began playing the 5 string banjo at age 26 and loved it dearly. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome developed and took away the banjo playing in 1996.

Seems like I've always been in a band of some kind or another. Mostly bluegrass. Some, but not all of the bands were:
The Grimes County Skillet Lickers......
Buffalo Nickel
Southern Hospitality
Texas Hospitality
Mike-Ricky-Ray-Bluegrass
The Memory Makers
and............oh yeah, "Back In Time!"

Met Sherriee at the Telephone Company and we married in 1987. We both retired on the same day! We have our emu business, we have remodeled several homes and sold them (which we continue to do), and we build & host websites (which is a serious challenge). We tried "retirement" and didn't like it!

Life is wonderful with the woman of my dreams, working on the ranch, and playing music with Johnny & Celeste.

Sherriee Loves Her Emus!
